HR Analyst
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Specialist to join our team in the public sector. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the efficient functioning of our organization by providing HR support, implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role will involve a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and personnel records management. Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and Staffing:
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs.
- Develop and manage job postings, job descriptions, and recruitment strategies.
- Conduct interviews, reference checks, and background checks as needed.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees.
- Employee Relations:
- Promote positive employee relations through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR-related matters.
- Investigate and address employee complaints and grievances in accordance with policies and laws.
- Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Ensure compliance with benefits regulations and assist employees with benefit-related inquiries.
- Manage the annual open enrollment process.
- Compliance and Policy Management:
- Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Personnel Records Management:
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Handle data entry, record-keeping, and report generation.
- Ensure records are in compliance with record-keeping requirements.
- Training and Development:
- Coordinate training programs and development opportunities for employees.
- Identify training needs and support professional growth and skill development.
- HR Reporting:
- Generate and analyze HR-related reports for management and government agencies.
- Prepare reports on key HR metrics and trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus.
- years of experience in human resources, preferably in a public sector or government setting.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS and other relevant software.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
