Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Big Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data solutions that power our business intelligence and analytics capabilities. Your primary duties will include:

• Collaborating closely with utility teams and business stakeholders to understand, define, and capture enterprise data requirements that align with organizational objectives
• Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of Voice of Customer (VOC) methodologies, leveraging these insights to design and transform data within our cornerstone big data platform
• Designing and building robust data model architectures that support optimal data processing and standardized metric definitions across the organization
• Implementing big data and batch/real-time analytical solutions using transformational technologies including Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, and Python
• Developing innovative data solutions that ensure information quality and accuracy through intensive testing at variable and use-case levels
• Providing recommendations and technical guidance to enhance capabilities and drive efficiency in computing programs within the big data ecosystem
• Leading consumer tale analysis and elaboration, including the design and development of software programs, testing, and automation tool development
• Proactively identifying opportunities to automate manual tasks and processes to improve quality and operational efficiency
• Working closely with partners from various business units to prioritize, define, develop, and test data solutions for diverse use cases as part of our comprehensive VOC end-to-end process
• Supporting live chat customer interactions and providing technical data support when needed

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Technical Expertise: Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on development experience with Hive/Hadoop, PySpark, Python, and shell scripting languages
• Development Operations: Strong understanding of development lifecycle management and troubleshooting for data-driven projects
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Proven experience actively collaborating with relationship managers and product owners to understand functional requirements and convert them into technical deliverables
• Agile Methodology: Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies, including experience with small increments of product introduction at regular intervals to business groups
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and data accuracy
