Position Summary
The Pharmacy Technician - Data Entry Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of prescription orders at arenaflex. This primarily remote position requires a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual who thrives in a goal-driven environment. The technician is responsible for promptly entering prescription data, verifying accuracy, and maintaining up-to-date patient records while adhering to strict quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Promptly and accurately process new and refill orders - Communicate with healthcare providers to request additional information needed to process orders (email, phone, fax, etc.) - Update patient records with strong attention to detail - Verify the accuracy of patient and prescription information - Proactively resolve data inaccuracies - Meet productivity benchmarks while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Essential Qualifications
- Certification and Licensure: Active pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) and licensure in accordance with Virginia Board of Pharmacy requirements. Commitment to maintaining continuing education and staying updated on industry best practices. - Data Entry Expertise: 1-2 years of experience in pharmacy or healthcare-related data entry, with a proven track record of accuracy and efficiency (preferred not required). - Quality Assurance and Compliance Focus: Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and the ability to handle sensitive patient information responsibly. - Performance and Time Management: Proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain productivity benchmarks while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. - Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with pharmacists, providers, patients, and team members. - Technology Skills: Proficiency in utilizing and troubleshooting pharmacy software and systems to optimize workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred Experience in Compounding or Specialized Pharmacies: Familiarity with 503A or 503B compounding workflows, or experience in data entry for specialty pharmacies (preferred not required).
