Job Description
As the Integration Lead for the Advanced Control and Monitoring System (ACaMS) product family, you will be responsible for leading the customer interface to our control system development. This means working with internal and external customers to ensure that their requirements and deliverable expectations are captured and delivered to the control system development team. You will also work with the customer to define the product interfaces between the engine control system and the aircraft systems that interface with it.
Key Responsibilities:
* Define aircraft interfaces in collaboration with aircraft customer, whole engine engineers, and control system component engineers
- Drive planning for and compliance to customer and engine-level gate reviews, ensuring control system definition and lifecycle documentation meets the progression criteria
- Define control system requirements at multiple levels of the requirements hierarchy, ensuring traceability, validation & verification coverage, and safety considerations are appropriately documented
- Develop the integration plan of the engine control and monitoring system with the whole engine and airframe, ensuring verification and integration efforts show compliance to contractual standards and objectives
- Act as primary technical liaison with whole-engine program (internal customers) and aircraft development team (external customers) for control system topics, engaging internal team to support those discussions and deliverables
- Collaborate to provide technical guidance, counsel, and direction to a small team of engineers, assisting in technical judgments and supporting resource planning
Essential Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience in control systems, OR
- Master's degree in an Engineering discipline with 3+ years of experience in control systems, OR
- PhD in an Engineering discipline
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
* 10+ years of experience in control systems
- Experience with and application of agile development methods for product development
- Gas turbine engine controls experience or propulsion control system experience a plus
- Experience with FAA and/or US military certification of airborne systems
- Demonstrated experience with control system design and analysis tools
- Experience using CAMEO and/or IBM DOORS
