Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team in Birmingham, AL. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, resolving complex issues, and ensuring a seamless patient experience. You will be the primary point of contact for patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders, and you will be responsible for resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
* Answer inbound customer service calls and execute outbound follow-up calls in a professional, patient experience, and customer service-oriented manner.
- Answer calls timely without drops/abandons.
- Ascertain the reason for the call and assist the caller with their questions, concerns, or problems with a focus on first call resolution.
- Facilitate resolution by referring the matter to the issue/content expert.
- Escalate the matter to a supervisor, request the appropriate information, or take appropriate action so that the issue expert can effectively resolve the matter.
- Resubmit Corrected Claims and supporting documentation as needed for the patient experience.
- Communicate issues to management timely and perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisors.
- Perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
Requirements
* High school diploma or GED
- 0-2 years of prior relevant experience
- Advanced computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, PC applications, and math/bookkeeping skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
* 1-3 years related or general knowledge of payor-specific or medical specialty billing
- Dialer experience within a call center type environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
