Product Manager (Yearbook / Photography software)
About Us
We're ClosedWon Talent, a sales and go-to-market recruiting agency that specializes in working with fast-growing startups. If you're exploring your next move, we might have just the opportunity for you, including this one. About the company Captura.io is a PE-backed photography software platform serving 500+ studios across schools, sports, and labs. Their suite covers studio workflow, AI photo enhancement, print lab production, and yearbook creation, helping photography businesses run end-to-end from shoot to final sale. In January 2026, Captura acquired Studio Source Yearbooks. Combined with their legacy yearbook product, Captura's software now creates the yearbook for roughly 1 in every 8 schools in North America. About the role The Product Manager owns the yearbook line end-to-end as the sole product owner across the yearbook software, the school store, and the customer dashboard. Partners with a dedicated yearbook engineering pod and works cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Operations. This is a hands-on seat for someone who can set direction, get close to customers, and stay deep in discovery and delivery. The work includes:
- Defining and driving product strategy for the yearbook business end-to-end, from design tools and proofing to ordering and the ecommerce experience
- Building an outcome-based roadmap tied to company goals
- Bringing Studio Source and the legacy Captura yearbook product together into one go-forward offering
- Partnering with Captura's high-volume product team to unlock cross-promotion, shared technology, and roadmap integration
- Balancing the needs of three primary audiences: independent school photographers, yearbook advisers, and school families
- Working closely with Engineering on discovery, validation, and delivery, with a high bar for reliability in workflows where one missed deadline means a school doesn't get its yearbook
- Establishing modern product practices: outcome-based roadmaps, continuous discovery, clear accountability
- Traveling to photographer partners and schools to build relationships and surface opportunities
Must have
- 8+ years of product management experience
- Proven ownership of product strategy and execution, with a track record of outcomes over output
- Strong grounding in modern product management: discovery, empowered teams, outcomes-based roadmaps
- Experience working closely with Engineering in cross-functional, agile environments
- Excellent communicator who can influence without authority
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and making decisions with imperfect information
- Willingness to travel 15 to 20% to customers and photographer partners
Nice to have
- Experience in K-12 yearbook, high-volume school photography, or adjacent SMB workflow software
- Experience integrating an acquisition, unifying roadmaps, or sunsetting product lines
- Experience scaling from 1 to 2 product, ideally as a group PM at a larger org
- Familiarity with seasonal volume businesses and B2B2C dynamics
