Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our Item Execution and Instrumentation Group. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data pipelines and systems, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible experience. You'll work closely with our cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that meet the needs of our business.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain our data pipelines and systems, ensuring high uptime SLAs and meeting business requirements
* Develop and implement data-driven solutions that meet the needs of our business, using a range of technologies including AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, and Wind current
* Collaborate with our cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions, including Information Item Supervisors, Information Draftsmen, and Information Specialists
* Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
* Ensure high functional proficiency and quality of your solutions, meeting SLAs and supporting our clients (Information Science, Information Investigation groups)
* Participate in agile/scrum practices to ensure team health and collaboration
* Identify and solve complex problems, researching and organizing to find solutions
* Seek out opportunities to automate processes and streamline costs
* Engage with and understand our clients, forming relationships that enable us to understand and focus on both innovative new contributions and steady stage upgrades
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
* Strong algorithmic thinking ability
* Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
* Active experience with distributed systems, such as Spark and PySpark, to query and handle data
* Strong experience with Scala and Python programming languages
* Strong experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
* Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (ideally Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query)
* Strong experience with data integration toolsets (i.e. Wind current) and composing and maintaining data pipelines with Databricks
* Experience in data modeling procedures and data warehousing standard approaches and practices
* Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with others and build consensus in a cross-functional team towards an ideal outcome
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
* Experience with data governance and data quality
* Experience with data visualization tools and technologies
* Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence
* Experience with cloud-based data warehousing and big data technologies
