Job Summary

As a Customer Development Manager at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for leveraging insights and analytics to support our top national customer, Costco. This role requires a unique blend of analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of national chain sales, retail, and distributor operations. You'll work closely with external retail customers, key suppliers, and internal teams to deliver actionable recommendations and drive category growth.

Responsibilities

Data Management and Analysis: Manage data sources to monitor the field execution of vendor programs & assortments, track category performance, and identify growth opportunities.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels, and collaborate with external retail customers, key suppliers, and internal teams to deliver insights and recommendations.
  • Analytic Best Practices: Stay informed of analytic best practices across the industry and provide effective information to deliver sales, margin, and market development goals.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze and report data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
  • Performance Metrics and Goals: Develop, communicate, execute, and monitor specific performance metrics and goals relevant to each business as part of regular, scheduled business reviews.
  • Reporting and Presentations: Create and deliver effective reports using POS data, Syndicated Data, and account-specific database information in presentation-ready formats.
  • Supplier Performance Evaluation: Evaluate and make recommendations on supplier performance to enhance the company's inventory & fill rate objectives.
  • Customer Insights and Growth: Understand and apply customer, consumer, and industry insights using market research data to deliver category growth.
  • Client Satisfaction: Ensure superior client satisfaction by providing hands-on deep analytics and contributing to team problem-solving.
  • Prioritization and Adaptability: Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree and experience within the CPG sector; Adult Beverage preferred; Costco experience a value add.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Data Integration and Interpretation: Incorporating and interpreting data from multiple unrelated data sources into concise action-oriented recommendations.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of National Chain Sales, Retail, and Distributor operations.
  • Category Management Principles: Expertise in category management principles, syndicated data, and shopper/consumer insights (Numerator/Spectra, etc).
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Ability to collaborate with external retail customers, key suppliers, and internal teams to deliver insights and recommendations, and assertive leadership and decision-making skills with an aptitude for understanding changing market dynamics and resolving complex problems.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-Haves

Syndicated Data Experience: Preferred experience working with Syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI), Internal Shipment Data, and Household Panel.
