Key Responsibilities:
As an Experienced Customer Service & Sales Representative, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing fast, friendly service to customers, assessing their needs, and recommending products to meet their requirements
- Learning about products and services using our tools and training programs
- Greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing every customer in your department
- Maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
- Providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards
- Working in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments
- Meeting or exceeding sales targets and customer satisfaction goals
- Identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services
- Building strong relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues
Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 1-2 years of experience in customer service or sales, preferably in a retail or wholesale environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet sales targets
- Strong product knowledge and ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:
- Experience in a sales or customer service role in a retail or wholesale environment
- Knowledge of building materials, décor, electrical, flooring, garden, hardware, kitchen & bath, lumber, millwork, paint, plumbing, and tool rental products and services
- Experience with CRM software and other sales tools
- Ability to speak multiple languages
- Certification in sales or customer service
