Key Responsibilities
As an Experienced Pharmacy Customer Service Associate, your key responsibilities will include:
Customer Experience
+ Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. + Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience. + Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Operations
+ Provide customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service. + Recommend items for sale to customers and recommend trade-up and/or companion items. + Register customer purchases on assigned cash register, collect cash, and distribute change as requested. + Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed. + Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records.
Pharmacy Support
+ Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow. + Utilize pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly. + Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs. + Verify medicine is correct and check for possible interactions. + Report prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
+ Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist. + Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner. + Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals. + Maintain knowledge of Company asset protection techniques and file claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) or state required certification/registration preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a pharmacy or retail environment, with a focus on customer service and patient care.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, customers, and healthcare professionals.
- Certifications: PTCB certification or state required certification/registration, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
