Job Summary
We're seeking a skilled Technical Data Entry Specialist to join our team at arenaflex. As a key member of our engineering and completions support team, you'll be responsible for accurately entering and validating data for equipment, managing complex Excel spreadsheets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and compliance with project standards. Key Responsibilities
As a Technical Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you'll have the following key responsibilities:
- Accurate Data Entry: Accurately enter and validate data for equipment (e.g., valves, transmitters, motors, panels, etc.) into smart completions systems (e.g., Hexagon SmartPlant, Aveva, or similar).
- Spreadsheet Management: Manage and update complex Excel spreadsheets with equipment characteristics, tags, make, model, serial numbers, and specifications.
- Data Interpretation: Review and interpret engineering datasheets, P&IDs, and loop drawings to extract and verify technical information.
- Data Integrity: Apply correct tagging conventions and ensure traceability across systems.
- Auditing and Compliance: Perform regular audits to identify data discrepancies and ensure integrity and compliance with project standards.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, QA/QC, and commissioning teams to resolve data gaps or inconsistencies.
- Reporting and Dashboards: Support the creation and maintenance of reports and dashboards using Excel or Power BI.
- Data Transitions: Assist with data imports, cleanups, and transitions between systems as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Diploma or Certification: Diploma or certification in Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical Technology, or related field.
- Technical Experience: 2+ years of experience in a technical or industrial data entry role—preferably in oil & gas, utilities, or large capital projects.
- Microsoft Excel Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, data validation, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.
- Smart Completions Systems: Experience with Smart Completions Systems (SmartPlant, Aveva, or equivalent).
- Technical Document Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as datasheets, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and I/O lists.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- US Work Eligibility: Eligible to work in the US.
Nice to Have (Assets)
While not required, the following skills and experience are highly desirable:
- Systems Familiarity: Familiarity with systems like SAP PM, Maximo, or CMMS tools.
- Excel VBA, Power Query, or Power BI: Experience with Excel VBA, Power Query, or Power BI.
- Industry Standards: Understanding of industry standards for instrumentation and electrical equipment (ISA, IEC, NEC, etc.).
- Commissioning or Turnarounds: Prior work on commissioning or turnarounds in industrial settings.
