Key Responsibilities
As an Experienced Pharmacy Customer Service Associate, you will be responsible for:
- Modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including greeting customers, offering assistance, and resolving customer issues
- Registering sales on assigned cash register, providing customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service
- Assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
- Engaging customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services
- Recommending items for sale to customers and recommending trade-up and/or companion items
- Registering customer purchases on assigned cash register, collecting cash and distributing change as requested
- Performing duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and verifying medicine
- Reporting prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhering to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program
- Handling telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians
- Processing manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner
- Assisting and supporting Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals
- Ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products)
- Constructing and maintaining displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise
- Assisting with separation of food items (e.g., raw foods from pre-cooked) and product placement as specified by policies/procedures
- Providing customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print, and creative machine
- Assisting with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance
Essential Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent required; PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in a retail pharmacy environment, preferably in a customer-facing role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, patients, and team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a cash register
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a pharmacy environment, with knowledge of pharmacy systems and procedures
- PTCB certification or state required certification/registration
- Experience working in a customer-facing role, with a strong focus on customer service
- Basic computer skills, with the ability to learn and use pharmacy systems and software
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
