Job Summary

As a Customer Service/Sales Representative at arenaflex, you will be responsible for providing fast, friendly service to customers by actively seeking out their needs and providing assistance. You will learn about our products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to sell an entire project. You will also be responsible for maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe. Additionally, you will work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments to achieve sales and customer service goals.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide fast, friendly service to customers by actively seeking out their needs and providing assistance

  • Learn about products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to sell an entire project
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments to achieve sales and customer service goals
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department
  • Handle basics in adjacent departments, including Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, immediately correcting hazards & unsafe conditions or reporting conditions to the Manager on Duty, and working safely as not to endanger yourself, co-workers, vendors, or customers

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or sales environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

* 2+ years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or sales environment

  • Experience working in a sales and customer service team environment
  • Knowledge of building materials, tools, and equipment
  • Ability to learn and understand arenaflex's products and services
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
