Senior Logistics Coordinator - Global Freight
Our client, a fast-paced and rapidly expanding global logistics provider, is actively seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Logistics Coordinator to join their virtual operations team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from home anywhere in the US. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of goods across international and domestic borders, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. You will serve as a key point of contact for carriers, clients, and internal stakeholders, optimizing supply chain efficiency and providing exceptional service. Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of the international and domestic freight forwarding process, including ocean, air, and ground transportation. Coordinate shipment bookings, documentation preparation (e.g., bills of lading, customs declarations), and cargo tracking. Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, customs brokers, and other third-party logistics providers to ensure smooth transit. Monitor shipment progress, proactively identify and resolve potential delays or issues, and communicate updates to clients and internal teams. Ensure compliance with all relevant international trade regulations, customs requirements, and import/export laws. Negotiate freight rates and service level agreements with carriers to optimize costs and efficiency. Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipment records in the company's Transportation Management System (TMS). Assist in the development and implementation of logistics strategies to improve supply chain performance. Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues related to shipments in a timely and professional manner. Analyze logistics data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain management. Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms. Proven experience with TMS and/or WMS software. Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting. Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and thrive in a remote, fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy. Knowledge of specific trade lanes or commodity types is a plus.
