Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative – Health Insurance Billing Resolution Specialist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to resolve patient medical billing inquiries
  • Collecting payments and assisting patients with inquiries regarding their medically billed charges
  • Providing exceptional customer service to patients and clients via phone, email, and online chat
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports, including time tracking and productivity quotas
  • Participating in online team meetings and company Q&A forums
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve complex billing issues
  • Staying up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory changes

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service, medical billing, or a related field
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy are vital to being successful in this position
  • Communication Skills: Excellent, professional verbal, written, and social communication skills are a must
  • Electronic Medical System Experience: Previous experience working with an electronic medical system is required
  • Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to navigate multiple systems and software programs
  • Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet daily quality and productivity quotas
  • Availability: Must be available Monday through Friday during Hawaii Standard Time
  • Friendliness: Friendliness and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role
  • Technical Skills: Ability to navigate personal and remote desktop simultaneously, as well as read and understand EOBs and follow up on denials and appeals

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Previous Experience with Health Insurance: Previous experience working with health insurance companies or medical billing software
  • Certifications: Certifications in medical billing, customer service, or a related field
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in multiple languages
