Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Customer Service Representative to join our team on a 40-hour remote evening contract. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for resolving patient medical billing inquiries, collecting payments, and assisting with patient inquiries regarding their medically billed charges. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly attitude.
Responsibilities
As a Customer Service Representative, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing EOBs (explanation of benefits) and resolving patient medical billing inquiries
- Collecting payments and assisting with patient inquiries regarding their medically billed charges
- Providing exceptional customer service and support to patients and clients
- Working in a remote, quiet working environment with a high-speed internet connection and a Windows-based personal computer
- Utilizing electronic medical systems to resolve patient medical billing inquiries
- Maintaining accurate time tracking and reporting
- Meeting daily quality and productivity quotas
- Participating in online team meetings and company Q&A forums
- Reading EOBs and following up on denials & appeals
- Navigating personal and remote desktop simultaneously
- Maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service or medical billing role
- Attention to detail: A high level of attention to detail and accuracy is vital to being successful in this position
- Excellent communication skills: Excellent, professional verbal, written, and social communication skills are a must
- Electronic medical system experience: Previous experience working with an electronic medical system is required
- Computer skills: Excellent computer skills, including the ability to navigate multiple systems and software programs
- Friendliness: A friendly and approachable attitude is essential for this role
- Availability: Must be available Monday through Friday during Hawaii standard time
- Time management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet daily quality and productivity quotas
- Training: Must be able to complete mandatory on-boarding training, which will be completed online via training videos and live meetings
Preferred Qualifications
* Previous experience in a similar role: Previous experience in a customer service or medical billing role is highly desirable
- Certifications: Certifications in medical billing or customer service are a plus
- Language skills: Proficiency in multiple languages is an asset
