This position is part of the Engineering Group within the Operations Division at arenaflex. As a Senior Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing technical support for the maintenance and operation of aircraft and related equipment. This role also involves establishing and maintaining aircraft and part standards within areas of responsibility.
What you'll do
- Conduct training for Specialists in areas of expertise - Serve as a mentor to other Engineers - Lead or facilitate project management or issue resolution as a group leader - Collaborate with manufacturers and regulatory officials, as needed, to ensure that design practices are properly validated according to applicable regulations and company manuals - Develop customized methods and special procedures for repairs, modifications, inspections, adjustments, and other maintenance activities that are not adequately addressed in existing manuals - Stay informed about daily airline operations, including areas of responsibility - Review daily needs based on aircraft/departmental targets and management mandates - Investigate aircraft/part issues that may cause flight delays or cancellations, significant uses in labor or materials, or breaks in maintenance activities, and determine appropriate corrective actions - Provide technical support as needed to restore operational status in the event of discrepant circumstances affecting aircraft or parts - Respond to requests from Maintenance and other airline divisions when technical support is required to assist with tasks or resolve issues - Develop project plans for fleet/multi-fleet and part design projects and pursue completion as per evaluated needs - Collaborate with other airline divisions, as needed, to ensure effective and efficient execution of design practices - Develop design documents to implement technical practices by providing customized methods for repairs, modifications, inspections, or other maintenance activities that provide benefits according to aircraft/departmental targets and management mandates - Maintain knowledge of current and future regulations that affect areas of responsibility and ensure that all design activities maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements - Utilize available resources to enhance levels of technical expertise and practical experience continuously. Also, strive to improve communication skills, using time effectively, and other personal characteristics relevant to maximum effectiveness and efficiency in performing assigned duties - Effectively interact with colleagues and management alike
All you'll need for success
- Minimum Capabilities: Training and prior professional experience - Four-year degree in Engineering field or related Engineering license - 1 year of design experience in a related field or 2 years of experience without a degree - A&P license - Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. - Ability to analyze technical information and make data-driven decisions - Demonstrated fitness, ability, and willingness to take on new jobs and responsibilities - Ability to prepare/convey presentations that promote acceptance of proposals - Ability to interact with internal and external clients effectively
