Key Responsibilities
As a Staff Software Engineer on our Customer Identity team, you'll be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing innovative digital products that manage and serve customer-centric data to all enterprise applications
- Defining technical architecture for complex applications that manage customer profiles, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability
- Serving as a technical SME for key platforms, ensuring they are sound technically and making strategic decisions based on technical requirements
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, program, design, and other engineering teams, to ensure seamless communication and alignment
- As needed, helping to hire world-class engineers to up-level the overall engineering organization
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- 9+ years of experience in software development, with a strong background in software engineering and development, including programming languages, tools, and best practices
- Proficiency in cloud-native technologies, systems, and distributed systems
- Proven technical leadership experience, with a track record of driving technical strategy and implementation across cross-functional teams
- A strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following skills and qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful Services, SQL, Oracle, Postgres, JPA, PCF, Kubernetes, and Azure
- Familiarity with modern development tools and technologies
- Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to lead other engineers by influence, with a track record of mentoring engineers of various levels
- Experience with customer-centric data applications, with a deep understanding of customer profile management and account management
Education
We're looking for candidates with a strong educational background in computer science or a related field. A Master's or Ph.D. in computer science is preferred, but not required.
Work Environment and Culture
As a hybrid employee, you'll be expected to report to one of our locations three times a week, at minimum. Our locations include Austin, Detroit, Warren, Pontiac, Milford, Atlanta, and Mountain View. Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive compensation package, including:
- Base compensation: $135,800-285,300, with actual base compensation varying based on factors relevant to the position
- Bonus potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance
