Responsibilities
As an Experienced Ramp Agent (Customer Service Representative) at JFK Airport, you'll be responsible for:
- Safely lifting, loading, unloading, and transporting baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft, while ensuring the highest level of customer service and satisfaction.
- Guiding incoming and departing aircraft from the gate positions to ensure timely connections and minimize delays.
- Safeguarding cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather-related incidents, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and commitment to safety and security.
- Operating ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in congested areas, while adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Utilizing baggage scanners and computers to ensure accurate routing of baggage to destinations, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Collaborating with other airport staff and stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer experiences.
- Participating in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge, while staying up-to-date with industry best practices and regulations.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- At least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
- A valid driver's license.
- Proficiency in English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass a physical ability test (PAT) and meet the physical demands of the role.
- A commitment to safety and security, with a strong focus on maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
