Job Summary

As an Experienced Customer Service Representative I - Child Support Program Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service to individuals seeking assistance with child support cases. You will be responsible for initiating and responding to requests, coordinating with internal and external partners, researching and resolving case issues, gathering information and analyzing case data, interviewing customers in person and/or over the telephone, interacting with other states, employers, and other business partners, and making decisions based on case information and provided documentation.

Key Responsibilities

* Initiating and responding to requests from customers via telephone, in person, chat, or email

  • Coordinating with internal and external partners to resolve case issues
  • Researching and resolving case issues, gathering information and analyzing case data to determine next steps
  • Interviewing customers in person and/or over the telephone to gather information and resolve issues
  • Interacting with other states, employers, and other business partners to resolve case issues
  • Making decisions based on case information and provided documentation
  • Providing exceptional customer service to individuals seeking assistance with child support cases

Essential Qualifications

* 1-2 years of experience processing information using a computer system

  • 1-2 years of experience conducting research and analyzing information to make decisions
  • 1-2 years of experience communicating with others to gather information
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications

* Customer service experience preferred

  • Experience working in a government agency or non-profit organization
  • Knowledge of child support laws and regulations
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
