Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Internal Communications Contractor Contract type Freelance Location New York City, New York Specialty Marketing Salary $70.00/hour - $80.00/hour Remote Yes Reference 509768 Job description Internal Communications Contractor (Part-Time) Remote | Contract · 30 hours/week · 6-month engagement Did you know that 1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but most providers don’t accept insurance, making therapy too expensive for most people. The Sage Group’s clients have made it their mission to fix this by building a new mental healthcare system everyone can access. They started by solving the biggest barrier to care: insurance. The admin work — credentialing, claims, payment reconciliation — is a nightmare. They’ve automated that. We are seeking a part-time contractor to support the Head of Internal Communications as they scale their internal comms infrastructure to match a company that’s growing fast — and distributed across the country. This role sits at the center of how 900+ Headway employees stay informed, aligned, and connected every week. You’ll own the coordination of our weekly all-hands, coach mid and senior managers on how to communicate clearly and confidently to a large audience, and work closely with our AV and Workplace Experience teams to produce the meeting day-of. This is a high-judgment, high-execution role. You’ll work directly alongside the Head of Internal Communications, taking on meaningful workload so they can focus on executive stakeholder management and strategic priorities. You’re the person who makes sure the meeting runs smoothly, the presenters are prepared, and the right information reaches the right people at the right time. You’d Be a Great Fit If:

  • You have 7+ years of internal communications experience, with meaningful time at a company of 500+ employees — ideally in a high-growth tech or healthcare environment where things move fast and the org changes often
  • You have direct experience producing and coordinating large-scale, recurring all-hands or town hall meetings for distributed workforces — you know what good looks like, and you know how to hold a run-of-show together when things don’t go as planned
  • You’re a strong narrative thinker — you understand that a good all-hands isn’t just a series of updates, it’s a story about where the company is and where it’s going, and you know how to help leaders sequence and frame content so the meeting lands with meaning, not just information
  • You’re a skilled communications coach — you’ve worked with mid and senior-level managers to improve how they communicate to large audiences, and you know how to give feedback that people actually act on
  • You’re a strong visual thinker with slide design expertise — you can take a concept and translate it onto slides with clarity and visual coherence, give meaningful creative direction, and elevate the quality of content beyond what people would produce on their own
  • You actively leverage AI tools in your work — using them to draft faster, ideate, and iterate on communications — and you’re excited to bring that fluency to how we operate
  • You’re highly organized and comfortable managing multiple stakeholders and deadlines simultaneously — all-hands prep involves a lot of people who have other priorities, and you know how to get what you need from them without creating friction
  • You have experience working closely with and supporting senior leaders — you know how to build trust quickly, come to the table with a clear POV on content and approach, and push back thoughtfully when something isn’t landing
  • You’re a strong writer — you can draft compelling presenter talking points, write engaging Slack posts that cut through the noise, and distill complex topics into clear language for a large, distributed audience
