The Security and Compliance Engineering team at arenaflex builds adaptable data management and extraction frameworks that are at the heart of our ability to uphold the most stringent data protection and cleanliness guidelines in the industry. We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to help us enhance our capacity to build these robust, flexible, and protection-driven data structures. As part of this team, you'll work with various data technologies like Flash, Voila, Flink, Kafka, and others to create fast, flexible, and powerful data pipelines; write ETL tasks to collect and aggregate data; and build high-quality data structures that enable proper handling of user personal data.

We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Security and Compliance Engineering team. As a Data Engineer, you'll play a critical role in building and maintaining our data ecosystem, ensuring that we're handling user data with the utmost care and adhering to the highest standards of data protection and compliance.Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement effective, flexible, and adaptable data pipelines to handle structured and unstructured data
- Develop a deep understanding of the data ecosystem at arenaflex from a data protection perspective
- Collaborate with the data protection engineering teams to understand product objectives and provide data that enables us to respond to user and regulatory data requests
- Maintain and reevaluate existing datasets and pipelines to ensure they're meeting our data protection and compliance requirements
- Join a talented team of data engineers who are passionate about enhancing our data protection and mitigating legal and regulatory risk
Essential Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in programming and data engineering, with a strong background in at least one of Java, Python, or Scala
- Proficiency in advanced SQL and data modeling
- Experience in designing data pipelines using big data technologies (Hive, Voila, Flash, Flink) on medium to large-scale datasets
- Ability to take requirements and deliver flexible and adaptable data models and pipelines
- Passion for data protection and risk mitigation, with a strong understanding of data protection regulations and guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data warehousing and ETL tools (e.g., Apache Beam, Apache Spark)
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform)
- Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks
- Strong understanding of data security and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
