Job Summary

As an Experienced Provider Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our healthcare providers through phone calls, letters, and other communication channels. You'll be the primary point of contact for resolving issues, answering questions, and educating providers on our self-service options. Your expertise in claims research, medical necessity, and coverage provisions will enable you to make informed decisions that meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities

* Answer questions and resolve issues based on phone calls/letters from providers in a timely and professional manner

  • Provide excellent customer service to high-volume inbound provider calls, ensuring a positive experience for our customers
  • Conduct extensive claims research on multiple platforms to identify and resolve issues efficiently
  • Utilize the customer service threshold framework to make informed financial decisions that meet our customers' needs
  • Process claim referrals, new claim handoffs, nurse reviews, and provider complaints in a timely and accurate manner
  • Educate and assist providers on our self-service options, empowering them to manage their claims and benefits effectively
  • Determine medical necessity, applicable coverage provisions, and verify member plan eligibility to ensure accurate claims processing
  • Perform review of member and provider claim history to identify trends and areas for improvement

Requirements

* Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Excellent computer skills, including the ability to navigate multiple screens and systems simultaneously
  • Experience working in a highly transactional call center environment, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and make informed decisions
  • Secure, private home office location with high-speed internet access (100 mbps or higher)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in the healthcare industry, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations

  • Certification in customer service or a related field, such as Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS)
  • Experience working with electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare software systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and areas for improvement
