Experienced Full Stack Data Engineer – Privacy (Remote, Part Time)

The Security and Compliance Engineering team at arenaflex designs adaptable data management and extraction structures that form the backbone of our ability to uphold the most stringent data protection and cleanliness guidelines in the industry. We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and help us build robust, flexible, and privacy-driven data structures. As part of this team, you'll work with various data technologies like Flash, Voila, Flink, Kafka, and others to create fast, flexible, and powerful data pipelines; write ETL tasks to collect and aggregate data; and design high-quality data structures that enable proper handling of user personal data.
Job Summary:
We're looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our data management and extraction structures. As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines, working with various data technologies, and collaborating with our security and compliance teams to ensure the highest standards of data protection and compliance.
Responsibilities:
* Design and implement effective, flexible, and adaptable data pipelines to handle structured and unstructured data
- Develop a deep understanding of the data ecosystem at arenaflex from a data protection perspective
- Collaborate with the security and compliance teams to identify item objectives and provide data that enables us to respond to client and regulatory data requests
- Maintain and reevaluate existing datasets and pipelines
- Join a talented team of data engineers who enhance our data protection and mitigate legal and regulatory risk
Requirements:
* Strong passion for consumer-driven data protection and risk mitigation for the business
- Proficient in at least one of Java, Python, or Scala with a minimum of 2 years of programming/data engineering experience
- Familiarity with advanced SQL
- Experience in designing data pipelines using big data technologies (Hive, Voila, Flash, Flink) on medium to large-scale datasets
- Ability to take requirements and implement flexible data models and pipelines
- Enthusiasm for showcasing excellence, learning new technologies, and growing your career
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA)
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, D3.js)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of data security and encryption techniques
