As a Healthcare Customer Service Self-Pay Collector, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve this mission.
Key Responsibilities
As a Healthcare Customer Service Self-Pay Collector, you will be responsible for:
- Handling inbound calls from patients and providers to arrange debt repayment based on their financial situation and client repayment guidelines.
- Utilizing HIPAA and TCPA talk-offs on each call to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Ensuring all required statements have been sent on accounts and requesting statements as necessary.
- Properly handling patient disputes by obtaining all pertinent information, noting disputes on accounts, and escalating to the supervisor as necessary.
- Assisting in making outbound calls when necessary.
- Performing other activities and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage difficult situations and respond promptly to customer needs.
- Strong oral communication skills; ability to speak clearly and listen effectively.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze information to develop solutions.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to use resources effectively.
- Proficiency in using healthcare management software; knowledge of Epic or similar software is a plus.
- Computer savvy with the ability to set up a laptop for work independently.
- Medical billing and pay processing experience with patients.
Requirements
* High School Diploma
- At least 1 year of relevant experience
- Associate's degree
- Two years of related experience (preferred)
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule, including:
- Four days: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Time)
- One day: 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Eastern Time)
Training and Onboarding
You will receive comprehensive training and onboarding to ensure your success in this role. Our training program includes:
- 2 weeks of intensive training, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Time)
- Ongoing support and coaching from experienced team members
Salary and Other Compensation
* Hourly rate: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications
- Eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans
