Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Insurance Customer Service Representative to join our team and provide exceptional support to our policyholders. As a key member of our insurance service center, you'll be responsible for handling property and casualty (P&C) related customer service and/or billing inquiries and problems via the telephone. You'll work closely with our policyholders to review policies, provide quotes, and make recommendations to ensure they have the right coverage for their needs.
Responsibilities
As an Insurance Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for:
- Handling property and casualty (P&C) related customer service and/or billing inquiries and problems via the telephone
- Providing policyholders with plan coverage information, quotes, policy changes, and policy change impacts to premium
- Reviewing and updating policies to enhance retention and better meet the needs of the consumer
- Counseling policyholders concerning appropriate coverage, policy limits, payment options, and state laws that will best meet their needs for sufficient protection against risks covered by Property and Casualty insurance
- Making recommendations and/or changes to the policy and gaining policyholder acceptance to process the changes
- Receiving and responding to calls and emails received by the insurance service center, documenting all activity in EPIC
- Utilizing knowledge of insurance industry and club insurance agency policies and procedures to provide efficient and professional customer service
- Providing quotes on endorsements as requested
- Identifying opportunities to apply discounts, processing insurance verification forms for insured, and acting as liaison for information exchange between customer and insurance companies
- Processing changes to policies within EPIC and submitting changes to specific companies, following up with company to ensure change requests have been processed in a timely manner
- Reviewing policy information and referencing company-specific claims procedures to assist insured in filing claims
- Mailing insured documentation to be signed and returned as necessary, following up to ensure documentation has been returned in a timely manner from member/customer
- Recognizing cross-sell opportunities (membership and insurance) and obtaining quote information
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of increasingly complex customer service experience in an insurance environment
- A Property and Casualty insurance license, required
- A Membership license, preferred, and/or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with policyholders, colleagues, and insurance companies
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex insurance policies and procedures
- Proficiency in EPIC and other insurance industry software systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service
