Military OneSource Counselor
About the position Responsibilities
- Provide appropriate type of service based on member's presentation, clinical history and needs and accurately differentiate between NMC and Military medical services
- Formulate accurate description of member's clinical presentation in their individual clinical records and maintaining appropriate records, case notes, forms and reports as well as database entries
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality according to DoD standards
- Manage duty to warn and restricted reporting situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol
- Participate in staff meetings, case consultations, and training opportunities Requirements
- Master's Degree in psychology, social work, marriage/family therapy or counseling or related mental health field
- Current, valid, unrestricted counseling license/certification in Colorado, which grants the authority to provide counseling services as an independent practitioner in their respective fields, such as LP, LMFT, LCSW, LPC
- 2+ years of experience, post-licensure, that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling major
- Experience using various computer applications and move through computer screens while talking with members
- Proven ability to build rapport, assess and address risk, and develop goals with service members and their families in a telephonic, video or digital modality
- Proven ability to work with a culturally and geographically diverse population
- Proven ability to address a variety of problems and issues as presented by callers
- Proven ability to work flexibly and creatively with other professional team members
- Proven solid written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Access to high-speed internet from home
- Dedicated, distraction-free space in home for home office
- Ability to speak fluent English

- Experience working with and/or for military communities
