Key Objectives & Responsibilities

As our Director, Data Science, US Retail Markets Customer Service, you will lead transformative data science initiatives that significantly improve customer experience and deliver superior business results. Your key objectives and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead transformative data science initiatives: Develop and implement innovative data science solutions that drive business growth, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement: Integrate cutting-edge data science technologies into service processes, encouraging experimentation, learning, and collaboration across the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with process, experience, technology, and analytics teams to understand customer needs and business challenges, designing data-driven solutions that offer a competitive edge.
  • Guide a team of talented data scientists and analysts: Develop, deploy, and refine ML and data science models (GBM, LLM) that improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Mentor and develop your team: Set ambitious goals, encourage diverse perspectives, and support professional growth and development to create a high-performing team.
  • Partner with process, experience, technology, and analytics teams: Drive a more responsive, caring, and efficient service organization by leveraging data science capabilities.

Required Skills and Experiences

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience across the data science lifecycle: Translate complex data into actionable insights and strategies, with a focus on driving business growth and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively: Work with non-technical stakeholders to identify key business problems and implement impactful data-driven solutions.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI, Python: Develop and deploy data science models that drive business value and improve customer experience.

Additional Skills and Experiences (Nice to Have)

  • Demonstrated leadership experience: Guide and develop high-performing teams, with a focus on creating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with service processes and the role of technology in enhancing customer interactions: Develop data-driven solutions that improve customer satisfaction and drive business growth.
  • Strong technical proficiency in data science methodologies and tools: Deploy data science products into production software environments for real-time inference.
  • Prior insurance experience: Leverage industry expertise to drive business growth and improve customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

As our Director, Data Science, US Retail Markets Customer Service, you will be responsible for:

  • Management, technical oversight, and development: Lead a team of data science and advanced analytics staff, with a focus on creating a high-performing team.
  • Collaboration with business partners: Develop tools and services such as modeling, dashboard development, and decision aids to drive strategic decision making.
  • Presentation of findings and recommendations: Share insights and make recommendations that impact profitability, growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strategic input on highly technically complex projects: Drive change across function, SBU, or Corporate Department.
  • Direction of work through others: Perform highly complex, technical, and creative predictive analytics projects.
  • Shaping the data science community: Lead cross-functional working groups and drive innovation and excellence in data science.
