Mid-Level Civil Engineer, PE - Land Development & Site Planning Location: Las Vegas Area / Mostly Remote Schedule: Flexible, primarily work-from-home Compensation: Negotiable, starting at $90,000+ based on experience About the Role We are seeking a mid-level Professional Engineer (PE) with experience in land development and basic site planning/siting to help support residential and light development projects in Southern Nevada, with a focus on the Las Vegas and Pahrump markets. This role is ideal for an engineer who wants meaningful responsibility, flexibility, and the opportunity to help shape projects from early site planning through civil plan production and coordination. You will work primarily from home, with occasional in-person meetings, site visits, and coordination in the Las Vegas area as needed.
What You'll Do
Prepare and oversee civil engineering plans for land development projects Assist with site planning and basic siting/layout work Develop and coordinate: grading and drainage plans utility plans and laterals site development plans erosion control and related civil sheets Coordinate with surveyors, geotechnical consultants, utility providers, and public agencies Support permitting and jurisdictional submittals Review project constraints and help identify practical development solutions early in the process Work with ownership and internal team members to move projects efficiently from concept to approval What We're Looking For Nevada PE license preferred, or ability to obtain Nevada licensure promptly Experience in land development civil engineering Solid understanding of grading, drainage, utility layout, and site development Ability to handle projects with a high level of independence Comfortable working in a flexible, fast-moving environment Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software Clear communicator who can coordinate across consultants, agencies, and internal teams Practical mindset with an interest in real-world development execution, not just plan production Nice to Have Experience with residential subdivision or small-to-mid-size site development projects Familiarity with Southern Nevada agency processes Experience supporting projects from early feasibility through permit-ready plans Understanding of utility coordination and improvement planning Work Environment Mostly remote / work from home Flexible schedule Las Vegas-area based preferred for occasional meetings and site visits Opportunity for a high degree of autonomy and long-term growth Compensation Negotiable starting at $90,000 Compensation will depend on experience, capability, and level of responsibility Opportunity for meaningful growth and equity in company Why Join Us This is a strong opportunity for an engineer who wants flexibility without giving up meaningful work.
