2D Toonboom Character Animator

2D Animator (Toon Boom Harmony Preferred) Company: Pixel Pirate Studio Overview: Pixel Pirate Studio is seeking an experienced 2D Animator to join our team for the production of a 25-minute animated pilot. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in Toon Boom Harmony (preferred), with flexibility to work in Adobe Animate or TVPaint, and can deliver high-quality animation in a stylized, character-driven format within a fast-paced production schedule. Responsibilities: Animate a minimum of 10 minutes of final animation for the pilot Deliver animation within a 3–4 month production timeline Animate characters, props, and scenes in a style inspired by The Simpsons and Rick & Morty (expressive acting, comedic timing, strong poses) Work efficiently at 12–24 frames per second, optimizing for both quality and speed Collaborate with directors, storyboard artists, and compositors to ensure consistency across sequences Maintain strong character performance, continuity, and timing Implement feedback and revisions quickly to meet deadlines Requirements: Requirements: Proven experience as a 2D Animator on professional productions (TV, film, or digital content) Strong proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony (experience with Adobe Animate or TVPaint is a plus) Deep understanding of animation principles, timing, spacing, and character acting Ability to match an established animation style and work within a production pipeline Must provide a portfolio or demo reel showcasing relevant work Preferred Qualifications: Experience working on adult animated or comedy-driven content Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with distributed teams Project Details: Production: 25-minute animated pilot Individual Contribution: Minimum 10 minutes of animation Timeline: 3–4 months Style: Adult animated comedy (similar to The Simpsons and Rick & Morty) Engagement: Freelance / Contract If you’re a fast, detail-oriented animator who can bring characters to life with strong comedic timing and efficient execution, we’d love to review your portfolio.
