Veterinary Assistant Instructor (Hybrid Certificate Program)
About the position Our Veterinary Assistant Certificate Program is seeking an Evening Instructor to teach the online hybrid curriculum and lead hands-on clinical labs on our Denver campus. This part-time role (20 hours/week) is ideal for a CVT, RVT, or DVM looking to transition into education or earn additional income with a consistent evening schedule. The instructor will manage the online didactic portion from faculty offices, transition to clinical labs for hands-on mentorship, provide prompt feedback on assignments, serve as a primary resource for evening students, and monitor student engagement and attendance.
Responsibilities
- Teach the online hybrid curriculum.
- Lead hands-on clinical labs.
- Manage the online didactic portion of the certificate program from faculty offices.
- Lead students through the hands-on skills required for their certification in clinical labs.
- Grade assignments and provide lab feedback within 48–72 hours.
- Serve as the primary resource for the evening student cohort, offering tutoring, advising, and professional mentorship.
- Monitor student engagement and attendance.
- Work with the Assistant Dean to help every student succeed.
Requirements
- Current Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or Licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in good standing.
- Graduate of a Veterinary Assistant or AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
- At least three (3) years of occupational experience in a veterinary setting.
- Comfortable using Blackboard Ultra, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
- Must be able to work the evening shift on-site at the Denver campus.
- Provide your own computer and internet connection to work from home (or work on campus if no device is available).
Nice-to-haves
- Candidates without a degree must have at least four (4) years of verified job-related training/experience.
