eDS Attorney/Lawyer

We are looking for an experienced attorney to support ongoing document review and case-related analysis on an ongoing contract basis. This position is ideal for a legal specialist who can assess large volumes of materials efficiently while maintaining accuracy and sound judgment. On-site capability to Oakland, CA for collaboration is helpful, but not required. Responsibilities:

• Review and evaluate documents for relevance, privilege, confidentiality, and key legal issues tied to active matters.
• Apply consistent coding decisions within the document review software (Logikcull experience a plus) and maintain accuracy across high-volume review workflows.
• Conduct legal research to clarify issues arising during review and support matter-specific analysis.
• Identify and escalate sensitive, potentially privileged, or high-impact documents to the appropriate legal leads.
• Collaborate with attorneys and case teams to align review outcomes with litigation and administrative law objectives.
• Track review progress carefully and help maintain organized, defensible documentation throughout the engagement.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated experience handling document review assignments in litigation or investigative environments.
• Working knowledge of Logikcull or Relativity (or another transferable document review system) and document coding standards for large-scale legal reviews.
• Strong understanding of legal research methods and the ability to analyze issues efficiently.
• Familiarity with civil litigation processes and administrative law concepts.
• Excellent attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven setting.
