arenaflex's Data Ventures team is a dynamic and agile group of data scientists, engineers, and analysts who work closely with our US stores and e-commerce business to better serve customers through empowering team members, stores, and traders with technological innovation. Our focus areas include customers, stores, and employees, in-store services, supplier equipment, supplier data science, and search and personalization. We're building a best-in-class suite of data products to provide actionable, customer-centric insights and help traders and suppliers make better business decisions on omni-channel 360 performance.

Job Responsibilities

As a Staff Data Scientist on our Data Ventures team, you'll be responsible for:

• Data Source Identification: Understanding the concerned order of requirements and service level agreements, defining and identifying the most appropriate reasserts for required data that fits the purpose, and performing preliminary data quality tests on the extracted data.
• Problem Formulation: Analyzing business problems within your area of expertise, questioning assumptions to help the business perceive the root cause, identifying and recommending solutions to solve business problems, and setting data analytics, big data analytics, automation goals, and deliverables based on setup achievement standards and outlining key metrics to measure development and effectiveness of the solution.
• Analytical Modeling: Selecting suitable modeling strategies for complex problems with large-scale, multiple established and unstructured data sets, selecting and developing variables and functions iteratively based on model responses in collaboration with the business, conducting exploratory data analysis activities (e.g., basic statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, statistical inferences) on to-be-had data, identifying dimensions and designs of experiments and creating test and research frameworks, interpreting data to perceive trends to move across future data sets, creating continuous, online versions learning including iterative model enhancements, developing newer strategies (e.g., advanced machine learning algorithms, vehicle mobile ML) through leveraging the latest developments in machine learning, artificial intelligence to teach algorithms to use models to new data sets, guiding the team on function engineering, experimentation, and advanced modeling strategies for use for complex problems with unstructured and multiple data sets (e.g., streaming data, raw text data).
• Model Deployment & Scaling: Ability to work with MLOps to push ML models to production, continuously logging and tracking model behavior once it's deployed against the described metrics, identifying model parameters which may need adjustments relying on the scale of deployment, code development & testing, writing code to develop the specified solution and application capabilities by identifying the right programming language and leveraging business, technical, and data requirements, creating test cases to study and validate the proposed solution design, creating proofs of concept, testing the code using the right testing method, contributing code documentation, maintaining playbooks, and providing timely development updates.
• Applied Business Acumen: Evaluating proposed business cases for projects and initiatives, influencing business stakeholder decision-making, translating business requirements into strategies, projects, and initiatives and aligning them to business method and goals and driving the execution of deliverables, building and articulating the business case and going back on investment and grants work that has demonstrable value, challenging business assumptions on subjects related to one's area of expertise, developing new organization-wide approaches and approaches to working, teaching and coaching others on best practices, proactively engaging in the external network to build arenaflex's brand and research more about business practices.
• Model Assessment & Validation: Identifying and reviewing model assessment metrics based on analytical requirements, applying appropriate strategies for model testing and tuning, to evaluate accuracy, fit, validity, and robustness, ensuring testing data is documented and maintained by the team.
• Data Visualization and Storyteller: Identifying and recommending the most appropriate visualization tools based on context, generating suitable graphical representations of data and model outcomes, understanding customer requirements to design suitable data representation for complex data sets and drive User Experience designers and User Interface engineers to build the front-end applications, defining application layout based on customer requirements, building compelling stories based on context to combine multiple pieces of data into cohesive insights, presenting to and impacting various audiences using the right frameworks and conveying clear messages through deep business and stakeholder knowledge, customizing communication style based on stakeholders and leveraging relationships to drive behavioral change, guiding and mentoring junior colleagues on story types, structures, and strategies based on context.

What You'll Bring

* Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 4 years of experience in an analytics-related field.

• Deep knowledge and understanding of machine learning, statistics, data science in general.
• Strong programming skills in at least one of Python/R.
• Ability to execute projects end-to-end including junior colleagues.
• Implementing best practices in ML Ops, coding standards, etc.
• Clearly communicate with business, product, and application partners.
• Ability to translate complex algorithm evaluations in simple language.
• Ability to present to management along with outside clients.
