Engineering Manager, IAM and Trust & Safety
Description:
- Recruit, manage, mentor, and develop a diverse team of Identity and Trust & Safety engineers.
- Provide hands-on technical mentorship, guidance, and decision-making to help teams deliver high-quality solutions.
- Own and drive execution of critical initiatives with timely, high-quality, incremental delivery.
- Define and evolve Identity and Access Management capabilities to meet future needs.
- Shape the Trust & Safety roadmap in alignment with company priorities and emerging threats.
- Design and implement scalable systems to detect, prevent, and respond to fraud and abuse.
- Partner with Product, Security, Design, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance teams to embed security and safety throughout the development lifecycle.
- Shape technical strategy and North Star architecture for key services and components.
- Support the application of AI/ML, automation, and data products to Identity, Auth, and Trust & Safety problems.
- Mentor, coach, and plan for the future growth of the engineering teams.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a people leader within a platform engineering organization.
- Domain expertise in customer-facing Identity & Access Management (IAM) and/or Trust & Safety.
- Strong technical acumen with experience designing detection and prevention systems.
- Practical understanding of how to apply machine learning and AI to Trust & Safety and/or security problems.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud computing.
- Experience building, operating, and maintaining high-traffic, high-availability platforms and systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective mitigations and resolutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven leadership experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies, changing requirements, and evolving organizational needs.
- Availability for participation in an on-call rotation for business-critical alerts outside regular working hours.
