What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
As a Customer Service Representative I, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service across various communication channels, including voice, email, web chats, and texts. Your primary duties will include:
- Providing exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff across various communication channels
- Assisting students with inquiries related to admissions, enrollment, registration, and financial aid processes
- Scheduling patient appointments and managing registration using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Ensuring compliance with university policies and adherence to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Completing special projects and performing other duties as assigned
What is Required (Qualifications)
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience
- General knowledge of customer service principles and processes
- Proficient skills in complex problem-solving, active listening, and effective communication
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently or within a team
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
While not required, the following qualifications will make you a strong candidate for this role:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree
- One year of customer service experience in higher education, student services, or healthcare
- Knowledge of academic programs, policies, and federal and state regulations
- Familiarity with Banner, Recruit, and/or Avaya systems
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
