Job Summary
As a Specialty Pharmacy Technician – Data Entry Transplant, you will play a critical role in helping others on the path to better health. You will be responsible for routing questionable prescriptions to the pharmacist for completion, making outbound calls/faxing physicians for prescription clarification, substitutions, and formulary changes. You will work in a high-production environment where you will need to multitask between patient referrals while maintaining excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will possess high levels of reliability, accuracy, professionalism, customer focus, team orientation, problem-solving abilities, strong written and oral communication, and strong computer skills.
Responsibilities
* Route questionable prescriptions to the pharmacist for completion
- Make outbound calls/faxing physicians for prescription clarification, substitutions, and formulary changes
- Work in a high-production environment where you will need to multitask between patient referrals while maintaining excellent customer service
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient information and prescriptions
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in pharmacy practice and technology
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure efficient and effective operations
Requirements
* 1+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Pharmacy Tech Certified in the state of GA
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in pharmacy software and systems
- Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient information and prescriptions
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
Preferred Qualifications
* Specialty pharmacy experience
- Call center experience
- Prescription adjudication experience in order to communicate with prescribers regarding case status and assess prescription claim issues
