Job Responsibilities
As a Staff Data Scientist, you'll be responsible for leading data science initiatives and developing data-driven solutions that drive business growth and customer satisfaction. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Data Source Identification: Identify and extract relevant data sources, define data requirements, and perform preliminary data quality checks.
- Problem Formulation: Analyze business problems, identify root causes, and develop data-driven solutions that drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Analytical Modeling: Develop and deploy machine learning models, conduct exploratory data analysis, and identify trends and patterns in data.
- Model Deployment & Scaling: Deploy machine learning models to production, monitor model performance, and identify areas for improvement.
- Code Development & Testing: Write code to develop and deploy data-driven solutions, test and validate code, and contribute to code documentation.
- Applied Business Acumen: Evaluate business cases, influence stakeholder decision-making, and drive the execution of data-driven solutions.
- Model Assessment & Validation: Identify and evaluate model assessment metrics, apply testing and tuning strategies, and ensure testing records are documented and maintained.
- Data Visualization and Storytelling: Develop data visualizations, create compelling stories, and present insights to stakeholders.
What You'll Bring
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in an analytics-related field, with a strong background in data science and machine learning.
- Deep knowledge of machine learning, statistics, and data science in general.
- Strong programming skills in at least one of Python or R.
- Ability to execute projects from start to finish, including junior team members.
- Implement best practices in ML Ops, coding standards, etc.
- Clearly communicate with business, product, and application partners.
- Ability to translate complex algorithm evaluations into simple language.
- Ability to present to management and external clients.
