Job Title: Proofreader Location: Remote (U.S.-based) Duration: 06/08/2026 10/31/2026 Schedule: Part-time (20 hours/week) Pay Rate: $30.00/hr Monday Friday: 12:00 PM 4:00 PM EST or 1:00 PM 5:00 PM EST Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Proofreader to review and refine written and electronic communications for accuracy, clarity, and consistency. This role requires strong grammar skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Review and correct written and electronic communications for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors
- Compare typeset drafts to original documents to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Ensure content adheres to client-specific style guides and standards
- Evaluate text for clarity, readability, and consistency
- Verify all edits and revisions are completed before final submission
- Annotate documents using tools such as Adobe Acrobat and/or Microsoft Word
- Collaborate with team members and facilitate document reviews using internal tools (e.g., TFS)
- Meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
Required Qualifications:
- Strong command of English grammar, syntax, and punctuation
- Proven experience in proofreading, editing, or a similar role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and/or Adobe Acrobat for document markup
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
