PowerBI Developer - Location - Austin TX (Remote)

Job Title: PowerBI Developer Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) Duration : 12+ Months possibility to extend Job Description: The Power BI Developer is responsible for architecting and delivering robust business intelligence and data visualization solutions that enable agency-wide insight and decision-making. This role builds complex dimensional data models, develops interactive dashboards and reports, and transforms data into compelling visual narratives for business and technical stakeholders. The developer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable reporting solutions that improve visibility, usability, and impact across the organization. This position requires at least 4 years of hands-on Power BI experience and the ability to independently perform a broad range of highly complex technical work. The ideal candidate applies sound judgment, plans and executes work with minimal oversight, and brings a high level of creativity, initiative, and problem-solving ability to each engagement. This role may also lead projects or provide guidance to other team members as needed. Preferred Strengths: Expertise in Power BI report development, dashboard design, and dimensional modeling Ability to translate complex data into intuitive and actionable Experience partnering with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver reporting solutions Strong understanding of data storytelling, usability, and visualization best practices Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work in a dynamic environment Minimum Requirements: 8 Years of Hands-on experience transforming complex datasets into performant data models. 4 Years of Designing and delivering advanced Power BI solutions, including complex semantic models and DAX calculations. 4 Years of Experience developing Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models. 2 Years of Power BI workspace management, gateway configuration, scheduled refreshes and data security 2 Years of Experience collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable reporting solutions 2 Years of Experience testing and validating Power BI solutions, including data accuracy, DAX logic, and report performance. 2 Years of Previous experience working directly with Texas state agencies 2 Years of Previous experience working directly with special education and public education information data sets Preferred Skills :(Optional) 4 Years of Prior experience in data-related tasks is preferred 1 Years of Previous experience with Source Control, Git/BitBucket is preferred 1 Years of Previous experience with SAS and its dataset (.sas7bdat) is preferred 1 Years of Previous experience with Jira is preferred 1 Years of Previous experience with BI tools ( SAP, Tableau) is preferred Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
