Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for:

  • Obtaining current patient information from established and new patients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records
  • Entering and updating patient information in our scheduling system, maintaining the highest level of data integrity
  • Identifying payer sources and verifying insurance eligibility, ensuring seamless billing and payment processes
  • Assisting patients with completion of paperwork when necessary, providing clear and concise guidance
  • Reviewing the Scheduling System for needed updated demographics and consent forms, scheduling appointments with precision
  • Identifying patients by date of birth and name in our computer system, creating new accounts as needed
  • Scheduling and rescheduling appointments as necessary, ensuring timely and efficient service
  • Demonstrating superior customer service skills, providing exceptional experiences for our patients
  • Answering telephone calls in a timely and polite manner, preferably within three rings
  • Communicating with customers in a courteous, professional, cooperative, and mature manner
  • Taking messages and conveying accurate information to recipients
  • Transferring calls to physicians and nurses when medically indicated
  • Protecting and observing patient confidentiality per policies and procedures
  • Importing registration documents into patient's electronic health record
  • Following up on outstanding A/R, including self-pay and denials, to achieve maximum payment and client profitability
  • Handling all correspondence related to insurance or patient accounts, contacting insurance carriers, patients, and other facilities as needed
  • Working EDI transactions and ERA files, including reconciling carrier submissions, edits, and rejection reports

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and make sound decisions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and scheduling systems a plus

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of medical terminology and procedures

  • Certification in customer service, such as Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • Familiarity with EDI transactions and ERA files
  • Experience working with insurance carriers and billing systems
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality policies
