Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Healthcare Patient Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our revenue cycle management team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, answering their calls regarding EOBs and research balances, managing patient refunds, and processing patient payments. Key Responsibilities

* Answer patient calls regarding EOBs and research balances

  • Manage patient refunds
  • Process patient payments
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, clients, and guests
  • Consistently demonstrate extensive attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Collaborate with the revenue cycle management team to resolve patient inquiries and issues

Requirements

* A minimum of one year of experience in medical billing and collections

  • Current knowledge of medical billing and reimbursement for commercial insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare
  • Thorough understanding of EOBs and the ability to effectively communicate by phone and in writing with patients
  • Consistently demonstrate extensive attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to clients, guests, and patients
  • Self-motivated, multitasking, and a team player

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, business administration) preferred
  • Current knowledge of medical billing and reimbursement for commercial insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare
  • Experience with medical billing software and systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in a revenue cycle management or medical billing environment

  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance
  • Experience with patient communication and customer service
  • Certification in medical billing or a related field (e.g., CPC, CMC)
