As a Director of Data Science, you'll have the opportunity to lead the Global Data Strategy group within our Risk Finance department, working closely with Senior Management to develop and implement cutting-edge data analytics and reporting capabilities.
About arenaflex's Risk Finance Group
The Risk Finance group, part of arenaflex's Corporate Planning (CP&A) division, is responsible for planning, forecasting, and evaluating global Loss Provision and Credit Reserves. The group also provides credit-related decision support to Risk Management, local Finance, and business groups on underwriting, customer management, credit, and collections activities.
Key Responsibilities
As the Director of Data Science, you'll lead the strategic evaluation of arenaflex credit metrics, credit provision, and reserve for Senior Management in Risk and Finance. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the strategic evaluation of arenaflex credit metrics, credit provision, and reserve: Develop and implement data-driven strategies to optimize business and risk decisions.
- Own precise information assets/packages within Risk Finance: Develop and maintain preferred and ad-hoc reports used by Risk Finance and/or business partners; provide credit-related analytical support.
- Develop and gift key analyses and suggestions to Senior Management: Present data-driven insights and recommendations to inform business and risk decisions.
- Build and keep relationships throughout Risk Finance portfolio groups and with companions in Risk, Controllership, Tech, etc.: Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams to drive collaboration and achieve goals.
- Provide selection-aid with a robust emphasis on growing analytics that identify traits and possibilities within the portfolio: Develop and implement data analytics to optimize business and risk decisions.
Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Advanced experience working with a maximum of the following is required: SQL/Hive, Power BI/Tableau, Python/R, VBA, TM1.
- Experience working with a sophisticated degree of Excel and PowerPoint required: Develop and maintain complex spreadsheets and presentations to support business and risk decisions.
- Experience in ML modeling is a plus: Apply machine learning techniques to develop predictive models and drive business growth.
- Solid economic and analytical skills: Ability to work with large datasets and draw significant conclusions to inform business and risk decisions.
- Superior attention to detail, alongside exemplary organizational and problem-solving skills: Develop and maintain accurate and reliable data assets and reports.
- Must be results-driven and proactive with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work within tight timelines: Prioritize tasks and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
- Desire to work on ambiguous tasks, growing clarity while achieving successful and significant outcomes: Develop and implement data-driven solutions to complex business and risk challenges.
- A robust work-ethic and strong interpersonal skills, showcasing the potential to build and maintain relationships and successfully collaborate with team members to achieve goals: Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams to drive collaboration and achieve goals.
- Master's degree in advanced mathematics or statistical discipline required: Apply advanced mathematical and statistical techniques to develop and implement data-driven solutions.

Compensation and Benefits
