Quality Control Director- Public Accounting
Position Overview:
This is a remote position with travel requirements of up to 15%, contingent upon client and business needs. Candidates should be located within the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and oversee client attest engagements, including the planning, execution, and final review of financial statements. - Conduct annual Internal Inspections to ensure compliance and quality. - Maintain current knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the presentation of financial statements. - Develop a comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), along with prevalent audit methodologies and procedures. - Participate in and support various training initiatives throughout the year. - Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns in the attest process to ensure effectiveness and skill development. - Research and analyze financial statements, addressing relevant attest issues as they arise. - Cultivate a network of potential referral sources and identify opportunities for service expansion. - Execute other job-related duties as required to maintain operational efficiency.
Qualifications:

Education:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a closely related field is required; a Master’s Degree is highly preferred. -
Certification:
A CPA License is mandatory. -
Experience:
A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in public accounting, with a significant focus on financial statement audits and Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services (SSARS) engagements. -
Technical Knowledge:
A solid understanding of GAAP, GAAS, SSARS, Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE), and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP). -
Communication Skills:
Exceptional oral and written communication capabilities are essential. - **Time Management: ** Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage time-sensitive engagements. -
Regulatory Knowledge:
Familiarity with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) auditing standards is considered an asset. Apply To This Job
