Mechanic Field [Journeyman]- Power Delivery - East Texas (Long View TX / Tyler TX / Nacogdoches TX / JACKSON TX area)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Journeyman Field Mechanic
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Starts devices to test their performance. Looks for maintenance issues that may need repairs.
- Performs preventive maintenance, operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Repairs electrical equipment.
- Looks for maintenance issues needing repairs.
- Performs miscellaneous welding, cutting and fabrication as needed.
Competencies Able to properly use diagnostic equipment and work on distribution / transmission equipment Terax / Altec type of utility work in the area including all support equipment than will need repairs. Be able to complete work orders and site doc daily and strong diagnostics is a plus.
