This full-time contract position, serving 37.5 hours per week, is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator ready to make a meaningful impact in regional schools. Your role will be onsite, working directly with students, nurturing their skills, and encouraging a love for the visual arts. If you hold a NY State Visual Arts Initial Certificate and enjoy designing engaging lessons, your expertise is highly valued here. What we're seeking:
- Current NY State Visual Arts Initial Certificate (Initial, Professional, or Permanent)
- Previous experience teaching visual arts in a classroom setting is desirable
- Ability to develop lesson plans that align with New York State Standards
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Willingness to work onsite in the designated NY area
- Flexibility to teach across elementary, middle, or high school levels
You will be responsible for:
- Planning and delivering art instruction tailored to students’ individual talents and learning needs
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment
- Integrating various artistic media and techniques into the curriculum
- Monitoring student progress, providing feedback, and communicating with school staff and parents
- Participating in faculty and professional development meetings as needed
