Special Education Teacher in Saint Paul, MN

Make a transformative impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher within a close-knit, supportive school environment. This contract opportunity, running from late August 2026 through early June 2027, offers the chance to work full-time (37.5 hours per week) in a Setting 3 classroom designed for students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You’ll enjoy working with a small caseload of approximately 6-10 students, allowing you to offer the individualized instruction and support each student deserves—all within a single building for increased consistency and collaboration with your peers. Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching license with an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) or DCD (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities) endorsement; Tier 3 or Tier 4 licensure required
• Experience providing academic and behavioral support to students with significant needs, particularly students with DCD/ASD
• Strong commitment to inclusive education, differentiated instruction, and evidence-based practices
• Excellent communication skills for working with students, families, and educational teams
• Organized, dependable, and compassionate, with a collaborative teaching style

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address unique learning needs
• Create an engaging, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and specialists to deliver holistic student support
• Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies to help meet goals
• Maintain open, respectful communication with families and participate actively in IEP meetings
