About Us

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. High Point believes that everyone has inherent goodness, worth, and dignity. Clinician Responsibilities Must always present as courteous and professional; Maintains and submits any current Licensure or Certification necessary for the performance of the position; Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks; Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion; Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPAO Electronic Health Record (EHR); Must have the ability to work with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner; An understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health issues and/or self-help programs; Understand and maintain therapeutic boundaries; Reinforce rules in a respectful manner; Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder and HIPAA Regulations; TB/Flu and Covid-19 Assessment; Annual Completion of the HPAO crisis de-escalation program; CPR Certification; Successful completion of all trainings upon hire and annually as required. Clinician Duties and Responsibilities Crisis intervention; Maintain assigned caseload; Providing direct care to patients - including assessments, individual counseling, discharge and aftercare planning, treatment plans and updates, weekly progress notes, daily groups facilitation, group note completion, and completion of bio-psychosocial assessments; Making referrals when appropriate; Responsible for each assigned patients' medical records. All records are to be professional, complete and thorough with entries made in a timely manner; Responsible for connecting patients with aftercare services prior to discharge and aiding the patient and their family access services when appropriate; Communicating/involving family in treatment at patients' request; Attend and participate in all unit, facility meetings, case conferences, Treatment Team meetings, and mandatory trainings, as directed by the Program Director; Responsible for continued education in the field of substance use, mental health and related courses; Always utilize standards precautions; Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient's rights. Clinician Qualifications Masters degree in one of the following disciplines or a closely related field; clinical psychology, education-counseling, medicine, psychology, psychiatric nursing, rehabilitative counseling, social work. Minimum of one year supervised substance use and/or mental health disorder counseling experience preferred; Independent License (LADC1, LICSW, or LMHC) preferred. Minimum of (3) years of clinical supervisory experience; post licensure; (5) years of behavioral health experience; Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple programs and staff; Experience with EHR systems; Strong computer skills, including Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Crisis intervention
