Bulfinch Temporary Service is currently hiring for a Temp Social Worker to work at Brigham and Womens Faulkner Hospital in the Psych Department. This role is full time M-F but hybrid in nature, candidate will be required to be onsite 2 days per week (more if needed). This position is to cover a leave from April until October 2026. Job Summary The Clinical Social Worker is a key member of the Addictions Recovery Program outpatient team, which includes board certified addiction psychiatrists and substance use disorder (SUD) specialized clinicians. Clinical social workers provide SUD education, assessment and diagnosis, individual and group therapy, and treatment planning for patients with primary substance use disorder (SUD) and/or patients dually diagnosed with SUD and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. The clinical social worker provides clinical services to patients and families which address psychosocial, environmental, age specific and cultural issues in order to maximize emotional, social and physical wellbeing and the effective use of health care and community resources. Clinical social workers engage in treatment that includes medications to treat SUD, utilize and appreciate motivational interviewing, and participate in team meetings where team-based learning and treatment is highly valued.

Qualifications

Responsible for the following for patients admitted to the outpatient addiction recovery program: · Completes comprehensive initial psychosocial assessment · Formulates initial and ongoing treatment plans · Offers counseling, psychotherapy and case management services to patients and their caregivers · Provides individual, group and family psychotherapy at a clinically appropriate frequency · Develops clinical discharge plan for continuing care as necessary · Provides SUD education and group treatment for patients · Assesses and refers patients to the appropriate level of care as needed, including PHP/inpatient programs · Submits mandated assessments when abuse is suspected (child, disabled adult, elder) and safety assessment when domestic violence is reported. Files reports as indicated. · Completion of all required daily progress notes, discharge planning, group planning, treatment consents, billing and other documentation as necessary · Provides vacation coverage to other Psychiatry/Addictions areas as necessary for continuity of patient care · Attends staff and treatment team meetings · Assists in research and quality improvement projects as requested Additional responsibilities: Documentation of all patient contacts and other important clinical information in the electronic medical record and in accordance with BWH and department procedures · Maintain of confidentiality and compliance with professional ethics according to professional and Departmental standards · Collaborate with colleagues including cross coverage for like duties when necessary · Participate in process improvement groups and improvement efforts as appropriate within scope of practice · All other duties are prescribed Professional Conduct: · Adheres to the profession’s clinical standards and NASW Code of Ethics. · Adheres to the Department and Hospital standards, policies and procedures. · Adheres to Departmental and Hospital quality/safety standards. Staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned areas · MSW/LICSW · Experience in the field of Psychiatric, substance use and/or community mental health services preferred. · Strong assessment and treatment skills · Good organizational skills and ability to set priorities · Demonstrated ability to communicate effective verbally and in writing · Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective team collaboration · Demonstrated ability to understand the role of social worker in a complex, fast-paced environment · Knowledge of specific medical/psychiatric illnesses, procedures and treatments · Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiation skills necessary to work within a team · Ability to provide rapid clinical psychosocial assessments and brief, short- or long-term treatment/management with individuals, families, and/or groups · Advanced crisis intervention/treatment/management skills · Strong organizational skills · Ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team · Demonstrated ability to consult/teach · Knowledge of community agencies/resources.
