Licensed Therapist – 1099 Independent Contractor | Remote (IL & MO)

Who We Are CLS is a telehealth group practice serving Missouri and Illinois. Our clients are high-achieving millennials, Gen Z adults, overwhelmed moms, teens, and LGBTQ+ individuals navigating anxiety, burnout, ADHD, identity, couples stress, and life transitions. Our approach is direct, evidence-based, and built around real action — not just talk. We're growing, and we want clinicians who are too. The Role This is a 1099 independent contractor position for a licensed therapist ready to build a full caseload with strong administrative backing. You focus on clients. We handle billing, insurance, credentialing, marketing, and operations. Accepted licenses: LPC, LCPC, LCSW, LMFT (fully licensed, no supervision required) Location: Remote (must be licensed in MO and/or IL)

Compensation

Pay is a percentage of collections, calculated every 14 days and deposited every other Friday.

• 60% — 4–29 sessions per pay period
• 70% — 30–49 sessions per pay period
• 80% — 50+ sessions per pay period

Applies to private pay, insurance reimbursement, and collected late cancel/no-show fees. No taxes withheld; contractors receive a 1099-NEC. Minimum activity: 8 completed sessions per calendar month to remain active in the referral and billing infrastructure. What We Provide

What We're Looking For

This is a good fit if you:

• Hold a fully valid state licensure as a Licensed Therapist (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LCPC LMFT) with the ability to provide telehealth services across Illinois and/or Missouri (no supervision requirements)
• Have a clearly defined niche — we're especially interested in therapists specializing in ADHD, LGBTQIA, couples, identity work, or support for overwhelmed women
• Work well independently and thrive in a virtual setting
• Align with affirming, evidence-based, action-oriented care
• Want autonomy without having to run a business solo

Qualifications

• Active, fully independent licensure in MO and/or IL (LPC, LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT)
• No current supervision requirements, license restrictions, or disciplinary conditions
• Experience providing telehealth services
• Reliable internet and personal equipment suitable for virtual sessions
• Ability to complete clinical documentation in compliance with payer and licensure requirements
• Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain prior to starting)

Preferred:

• Experience with insurance-based billing and managed care
• Familiarity with SimplePractice or comparable EHR
• Specialty experience in ADHD, LGBTQIA+, couples, identity, or maternal/parenting stress
