Associate Attorney in Santa Fe

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

About the Firm Attorney Dean Boyd, PLLC is a plaintiff personal injury firm with offices in Amarillo and Lubbock, TX and Santa Fe, NM. We have spent over three decades fighting for injured people across both states. We are a close-knit, high-functioning team that takes our work seriously and treats each other well. The Role We are adding an Associate Attorney to support our entire practice across Texas and New Mexico. This is a staff attorney track with a salary, no origination requirements, and no business development pressure. You will manage cases across the full litigation lifecycle, work directly with clients across all three of our markets, and grow into pre-litigation support and broader case advisory over time. This is a real attorney job with real responsibility. We want someone who will roll up their sleeves, pick up the phone with a client, and collaborate with our staff like a colleague, not a boss.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cases spanning pre-litigation through active litigation, including client communication, demand preparation, discovery, depositions, prove-ups, and hearing appearances
  • Serve as an accessible legal resource for clients, answering questions, explaining process, and building trust
  • Collaborate daily with case managers and legal assistants across intake, case management, and litigation
  • Support pre-litigation case evaluation and strategy as your role evolves
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable court deadlines, rules of procedure, and professional conduct standards in Texas and New Mexico
  • Travel as needed between our Amarillo, Lubbock, and Santa Fe offices and across both states for hearings and firm matters

Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and/or New Mexico. Dual licensure is strongly preferred and reflected in compensation. The firm will cover all costs to obtain licensure in the second state.
  • Single-state licensed candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of personal injury experience and a willingness to pursue licensure in the additional state.
  • 2 to 5 years of personal injury experience for dual-licensed candidates, with meaningful litigation exposure.
  • Familiarity with all operational phases of a plaintiff PI firm, from intake through trial preparation.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage a demanding, deadline-driven caseload.
  • Genuine people skills. You communicate clearly, treat staff with respect, and clients trust you.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $125,000 to $175,000 depending on experience and licensure
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance: Fully paid for employee. Dependent coverage at 50% employer-paid.
  • 401(k): 100% match on first 4.5%, plus 50% match on next 0.5%
  • Malpractice Insurance: Fully covered by firm
  • Bar dues and CLE: Covered in full, both states
  • Dual licensure: Firm covers all costs
  • Every other Friday off, paid. You get a three-day weekend twice a month, every month.

To apply, send your resume and a brief note about yourself (not a form cover letter) to [email protected]. Tell us where you're licensed, how long you've practiced, and why this role caught your attention. We read everything. Attorney Dean Boyd, PLLC is an equal opportunity employer.
